Decalepis hamiltonii
Decalepis hamiltonii is a species of plant in the family Apocynaceae. It is commonly known as Swallow Root or Maredu Kommulu in Telugu. This plant is native to the Indian subcontinent, particularly found in the regions of Southern India.

Decalepis hamiltonii is a perennial, climbing shrub that can grow up to 5 meters in length. The plant has a woody stem and produces fragrant, white flowers. The leaves are simple, opposite, and ovate to lanceolate in shape. The roots of Decalepis hamiltonii are aromatic and have a sweet taste, which is why they are often used in traditional Ayurvedic medicine.

This species thrives in tropical and subtropical climates. It is commonly found in the Western Ghats and other forested areas of Southern India. The plant prefers well-drained soils and can often be found growing in rocky terrains.
