Duluth is a city located in the state of Minnesota, United States. It is the fourth largest city in Minnesota and the county seat of Saint Louis County. Duluth has a population of 86,265 and is the second-largest city on Lake Superior's shores.

Duluth's history dates back to 1856 when it was incorporated as a city. It was named after Daniel Greysolon, Sieur du Lhut, who came to the area in 1679. The city's economy was initially based on shipping and mining.
