East Newark, NJ
East Newark is a borough in Hudson County, New Jersey, United States. It is a part of the New York metropolitan area and is situated on the west bank of the Passaic River. East Newark is known for its close-knit community, diverse population, and rich history.

- East Newark was incorporated as a borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on July 3, 1895, from portions of the now-defunct Harrison Township. The borough was reincorporated on March 12, 1903.
Geography[edit | edit source]
- East Newark is located in the heart of Hudson County. It is bordered by the borough of Harrison to the north and west, and the city of Newark to the east.
Demographics[edit | edit source]
- As of the 2010 United States Census, there were 2,406 people, 785 households, and 570 families residing in the borough.

- East Newark is served by several healthcare facilities in and around the borough. These include:
- Saint Michael's Medical Center: A 358-bed regional tertiary-care, teaching, and research center in the heart of Newark’s business and educational district.
- Newark Beth Israel Medical Center: A 665-bed quaternary care, teaching hospital that provides comprehensive health care for the region.
- University Hospital (Newark): The principal teaching hospital of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences as well as a regional resource for advanced services across many complex specialties.
