Edmund W. Samuel

Edmund W. Samuel was born on April 27, 1857, in Pontypridd, Wales. He immigrated to the United States with his family in his youth. Samuel pursued his education in the public schools of Scranton, Pennsylvania, and later attended the University of Pennsylvania.
Political Career[edit | edit source]
Samuel's political career began at the local level, where he served in various capacities. He was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and later to the Pennsylvania State Senate. His dedication to public service and his effective leadership earned him a reputation as a committed and capable politician.
In 1906, Samuel was elected as a Republican to the United States House of Representatives, representing Pennsylvania's 10th congressional district. He served in the Sixtieth Congress from March 4, 1907, to March 3, 1909. During his tenure, he focused on issues such as immigration, labor rights, and infrastructure development.
Later Life and Legacy[edit | edit source]
After serving in Congress, Samuel continued to be active in public affairs and community service. He returned to Scranton, Pennsylvania, where he engaged in various business ventures and civic activities. Samuel passed away on March 7, 1930, and was interred in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Scranton.
