Edvige Carboni
Edvige Carboni (2 May 1880 – 17 February 1952) was an Italian mystic, stigmatist, and visionary. Born in Pozzomaggiore, Sardinia, she was known for her deep spirituality, reported visions of Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary, and various saints, as well as her bearing the stigmata, the bodily wounds resembling those of Christ's crucifixion.
Early Life[edit | edit source]
Edvige Carboni was born into a devout Catholic family. From a young age, she exhibited a profound inclination towards spirituality and prayer. Her life was marked by numerous mystical experiences, which began in her childhood and continued throughout her life.
Mystical Experiences[edit | edit source]
Carboni's mystical experiences included visions, prophetic revelations, and physical phenomena associated with the stigmata. She reported her first vision of Jesus Christ at the age of four. As she grew older, her experiences became more intense and frequent, including visions of the Virgin Mary and several saints. Her stigmata, which she received on multiple occasions, were visible on Fridays and during Lent, disappearing completely without leaving any scars.
