Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) is a group of genetic connective tissue disorders characterized by hypermobile joints, stretchy skin, and a tendency to bruise easily. The syndrome is named after Edvard Ehlers and Henri-Alexandre Danlos, who independently described the condition in the early 20th century.
