• Elmore County is a county located in the east central portion of the U.S. state of Alabama. As of the 2020 census, the population was 81,468. Its county seat is Wetumpka. Elmore County is part of the Montgomery, AL Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Geography

• Elmore County spans 657 square miles, with 625 square miles of land and 32 square miles of water. It is bordered by Coosa County to the north, Tallapoosa County to the northeast, Macon County to the southeast, Montgomery County to the south, and Autauga County to the west.

• As of the 2020 census, Elmore County had a population of 81,468. The racial makeup of the county was 76.4% White, 20.6% Black or African American, 0.4% Native American, 0.8% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.8% from other races, and 1.0% from two or more races. 2.6% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
