Epidemiology is a scientific journal that publishes research studies and review articles in the field of epidemiology. The journal was established in 1990 and is published bimonthly by Wolters Kluwer. The current editor-in-chief is Timothy L. Lash.

The journal was established in 1990 by Leon Gordis of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. It was published by Little, Brown and Company from 1990 to 1995, and by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins from 1996 to 2014. Since 2015, the journal has been published by Wolters Kluwer.

Scope[edit | edit source]

Epidemiology publishes original research from all fields of epidemiology. The journal also publishes review articles, short reports, and letters to the editor. Topics covered in the journal include descriptive epidemiology, epidemiologic methods, genetic epidemiology, environmental epidemiology, and clinical epidemiology.

Abstracting and indexing[edit | edit source]

The journal is abstracted and indexed in PubMed, MEDLINE, Scopus, and the Science Citation Index. According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal has a 2019 impact factor of 5.230.

Editorial board[edit | edit source]

The current editor-in-chief is Timothy L. Lash, who succeeded Moyses Szklo in 2018. The journal has an international editorial board.
