Epilepsia is a monthly peer-reviewed medical journal that focuses on epilepsy. The journal was established in 1909 and is published by Wiley-Blackwell on behalf of the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE). The editor-in-chief is Robert S. Fisher.

The journal was established in 1909, making it one of the oldest journals dedicated to the study of epilepsy. It was initially published on a quarterly basis, but switched to a monthly publication schedule in 1959.

Scope[edit | edit source]

Epilepsia publishes articles related to all aspects of epilepsy, including clinical research, basic science research, and epidemiology. The journal also publishes review articles, case reports, and letters to the editor.

The journal is abstracted and indexed in PubMed, MEDLINE, Scopus, and the Science Citation Index. According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal has a 2019 impact factor of 6.040.

The editorial board of Epilepsia is composed of experts in the field of epilepsy from around the world. The current editor-in-chief is Robert S. Fisher, a professor of neurology at Stanford University.
