Faculty Of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University
Faculty Of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University is the oldest and largest medical school and hospital in Thailand. It is located in Bangkok on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River, opposite to the Grand Palace. The hospital is a part of Mahidol University.

The Faculty Of Medicine Siriraj Hospital was established in 1888 by King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) after the death of his 18-month-old son from dysentery. The hospital was named after the prince, who was called "Siriraj". It was the first medical school in Thailand, initially offering a four-year medical program.
Education[edit | edit source]
The Faculty Of Medicine Siriraj Hospital offers a six-year Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) program, four-year B.Sc. (Medical Technology) and B.N.S. (Nursing) programs, and two-year certificate programs in Radiological Technology, Medical Records, and Physical Therapy. The faculty also offers postgraduate education including residency training programs, diploma programs, and Ph.D. programs.

The Faculty Of Medicine Siriraj Hospital is a leading medical research institution in Thailand. It has several research centers, including the Siriraj Center of Research Excellence (SiCORE), which focuses on genomics, proteomics, and bioinformatics.
Facilities[edit | edit source]
The hospital has over 2,000 beds and sees over 8,000 outpatients daily. It is equipped with advanced medical technology and offers a wide range of medical services. The hospital also has a medical museum, known as the Siriraj Medical Museum, which is open to the public.
Notable alumni[edit | edit source]
Many notable Thai medical professionals have graduated from the Faculty Of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, including Dr. Prawase Wasi, a pioneer in community medicine in Thailand, and Dr. Suthep Petchmark, a former Minister of Public Health.
