Fall River County, South Dakota
Fall River County is a county located in the U.S. state of South Dakota. As of the 2010 census, the population was 7,094. Its county seat is Hot Springs. The county was founded in 1883. It is named for the Fall River which runs through it.

Fall River County spans 1,749 square miles of South Dakota territory. The county's topography is characterized by rugged hills, plateaus, and river valleys. The county is home to several natural and historical landmarks, including the Black Hills, Wind Cave National Park, and the Cold Brook Reservoir.
Demographics[edit | edit source]
As of the 2010 census, Fall River County had a population of 7,094. The racial makeup of the county was 81.5% White, 1.0% Black or African American, 12.5% Native American, 0.3% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, and 4.6% from two or more races.

The VA Black Hills Health Care System in Hot Springs is a part of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. It provides a broad spectrum of medical, surgical, and rehabilitative care for veterans in the region.
