Fentons Creamery is a historic ice cream parlor and restaurant located in Oakland, California. Established in 1894, it is one of the oldest continuously operating ice cream parlors in the United States.

Fentons Creamery was founded by Elbridge Seth Fenton in 1894. The original location was on Telegraph Avenue in Oakland, but it moved to its current location on Piedmont Avenue in 1961. The creamery is known for its large selection of homemade ice cream and sundaes, as well as its menu of diner-style food.

Menu[edit | edit source]

The menu at Fentons Creamery includes a wide variety of ice cream flavors, sundaes, and shakes. In addition to ice cream, the restaurant also serves a full menu of diner-style food, including sandwiches, burgers, and salads. Fentons is particularly famous for its Black and Tan Sundae, a signature dish that includes a scoop of toasted almond ice cream, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, caramel and chocolate sauce, whipped cream, and a cherry.

In popular culture[edit | edit source]

Fentons Creamery was featured in the 2009 Pixar film Up. In the film, the main characters often visit a fictionalized version of Fentons. Following the release of the film, the creamery saw a significant increase in visitors.
