- Forest City is a city in Winnebago County, Iowa, United States. It is the county seat of Winnebago County. The city is located along the Winnebago River in the north central part of the state. Forest City is known for its small-town charm, beautiful natural surroundings, and rich history.

- Forest City was founded in 1856 by Robert Clark. The city was named after its location in a dense forest. The city quickly grew due to its location on the Winnebago River and the arrival of the railroad in the late 19th century.

- Forest City is located at 43°15′40″N 93°38′35″W. The city has a total area of 4.64 square miles, all of it land. The city is located in the north central part of Iowa, near the Minnesota border.

- As of the 2010 census, there were 4,151 people, 1,860 households, and 1,175 families residing in the city. The population density was 894.6 inhabitants per square mile.
