- Franklin County is a county located in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Alabama. As of the 2020 census, the population was 31,223. The county seat is Russellville. The county was named in honor of Benjamin Franklin.

- Franklin County covers a total area of 647 square miles, of which 634 square miles is land and 13 square miles is water. It is bordered by Colbert County to the north, Lawrence County to the east, Winston County to the southeast, Marion County to the south, and Itawamba and Tishomingo counties in Mississippi to the west.
