Fred Girod

Fred Girod is an American politician and dentist who has served as a member of the Oregon State Senate since 2008. He represents the 9th district, which includes parts of Marion and Linn counties. Girod is a member of the Republican Party.

Fred Girod was born in Salem, Oregon. He attended Oregon State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. He later attended Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree.

Dentistry[edit | edit source]

Before entering politics, Girod worked as a dentist. He has practiced dentistry in the Stayton area for several years.

Political Career[edit | edit source]

Girod's political career began in the Oregon House of Representatives, where he served from 1993 to 1997. He was appointed to the Oregon State Senate in 2008 to fill a vacancy and has been re-elected multiple times since then.

In the Senate, Girod has served on various committees, including the Senate Committee on Health Care and the Senate Committee on Human Services. He has been involved in legislation related to healthcare, education, and public safety.

Fred Girod resides in Stayton with his family. He is active in his community and continues to practice dentistry part-time.
