FrieslandCampina is a Dutch multinational dairy cooperative which is based in Amersfoort, Netherlands. It is the result of a merger between Friesland Foods and Campina in December 2008.

The history of FrieslandCampina dates back to 1879 when a group of farmers in the Netherlands joined forces to create a dairy cooperative. This cooperative, known as Friesland Foods, aimed to improve the economic position of its members by processing and selling their milk collectively. In 2008, Friesland Foods merged with another Dutch dairy cooperative, Campina, to form FrieslandCampina.

FrieslandCampina produces and sells a variety of dairy products, including milk, cheese, butter, and yogurt, under various brand names. These brands include Friesche Vlag, Chocomel, Fristi, Optimel, and Vifit. The company also produces infant and toddler nutrition, specialized nutrition for the elderly, and ingredients for the food industry.

FrieslandCampina operates in more than 100 countries, with production facilities in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, and other countries. The company's operations are divided into four business groups: Consumer Dairy, Specialised Nutrition, Ingredients, and Dairy Essentials.

Sustainability[edit | edit source]

FrieslandCampina is committed to sustainable dairy farming and aims to reduce its environmental impact. The company has implemented various sustainability initiatives, such as the Foqus planet program, which sets standards for sustainable dairy farming.
