Fuad El-Hibri
Fuad El-Hibri is a prominent businessman and philanthropist known for his significant contributions to the biotechnology industry. He is the founder and executive chairman of Emergent BioSolutions, a global life sciences company specializing in the development and manufacturing of vaccines and therapeutics.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
El-Hibri was born in Lebanon and raised in Germany. He completed his undergraduate studies at Stanford University, earning a Bachelor's degree in Economics. He later received a Master's degree in Public and Private Management from Yale University.
Career[edit | edit source]
El-Hibri began his career in the international banking sector, working for Citibank and Morgan Stanley. He later transitioned into the telecommunications industry, serving as the director of East West Resources Corporation, a private investment firm.
In 1998, El-Hibri founded Emergent BioSolutions, a company dedicated to protecting and enhancing life. Emergent BioSolutions is known for its development of BioThrax, the only FDA-approved anthrax vaccine. Under El-Hibri's leadership, the company has grown to become a global leader in the biotechnology industry.

El-Hibri is also recognized for his philanthropic efforts. He established the El-Hibri Foundation, which focuses on fostering interfaith dialogue and promoting social change. The foundation awards the annual El-Hibri Peace Education Prize to individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to peace education.
