Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois (born May 31, 1980) is a Canadian politician and activist. He is a member of the National Assembly of Quebec for the Gouin electoral district, representing the Québec solidaire party. Nadeau-Dubois is known for his role in the 2012 Quebec student protests and his advocacy for social justice and environmental issues.

Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois was born in Montreal, Quebec. He studied at the Université de Montréal, where he earned a degree in history and political science. During his time at university, he became actively involved in student politics and social movements.

Activism[edit | edit source]

Nadeau-Dubois rose to prominence as a spokesperson for the Coalition large de l'Association pour une solidarité syndicale étudiante (CLASSE) during the 2012 Quebec student protests. The protests, also known as the Maple Spring, were a series of student demonstrations against proposed tuition fee increases by the Quebec government. His leadership and eloquence made him a prominent figure in the movement, which eventually led to the cancellation of the tuition hikes.

In 2017, Nadeau-Dubois entered politics as a candidate for Québec solidaire. He was elected to the National Assembly of Quebec in a by-election for the Gouin riding, succeeding Françoise David. As a member of the National Assembly, he has focused on issues such as climate change, income inequality, and public transportation.
