Gail J. McGovern
Gail J. McGovern is an American business executive and the current President and CEO of the American Red Cross. She has held this position since June 2008. McGovern is known for her leadership in the nonprofit sector and her efforts to modernize the American Red Cross.

Gail J. McGovern was born in New York City. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Quantitative Sciences from Johns Hopkins University and later received her Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School.

Early Career[edit | edit source]
McGovern began her career at AT&T, where she worked for over 20 years. During her tenure, she held various senior management positions, including Executive Vice President of the Consumer Markets Division. She played a significant role in the company's marketing and sales strategies.
Fidelity Investments[edit | edit source]
After leaving AT&T, McGovern joined Fidelity Investments as President of Distribution and Services. In this role, she was responsible for the company's retail mutual fund and brokerage businesses.

McGovern also served as a faculty member at Harvard Business School, where she taught marketing and consumer marketing to MBA students. Her academic contributions have been recognized for their impact on the field of marketing.
