Ghoulem Berrah
Ghoulem Berrah (1938 – 2011) was an Algerian scientist, diplomat, and political activist. He is best known for his contributions to the field of virology and his role in the Algerian War of Independence.

Ghoulem Berrah was born in 1938 in Aïn Beïda, Algeria. He pursued his early education in Algeria before moving to France for higher studies. Berrah earned his medical degree from the University of Paris and later specialized in virology.

Berrah's scientific career was marked by significant contributions to virology. He conducted pioneering research on the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), which is associated with several types of cancer and infectious mononucleosis. His work helped in understanding the mechanisms of viral infection and the body's immune response.
