Givaudan is a Swiss multinational manufacturer of flavors, fragrances, and active cosmetic ingredients. The company has its headquarters in Vernier, near Geneva, Switzerland. Givaudan is the largest company in the flavor and fragrance industry.

Givaudan was founded in 1895 in Zurich, Switzerland by Leon and Xavier Givaudan. The company initially focused on producing synthetic flavors and fragrances. Over the years, Givaudan expanded its operations globally and diversified its product offerings.

In 1948, Givaudan opened a research center in Dübendorf, Switzerland, which became a hub for innovation in the flavor and fragrance industry. The company continued to grow through acquisitions, including the purchase of Fritzsche, Dodge & Olcott in 1963 and the flavor division of Nestlé in 2002.
