Govind Armstrong was born in Inglewood, California. He developed an interest in cooking at a young age and began his culinary career as a teenager. Armstrong's early experiences in the kitchen included working at the prestigious Spago restaurant under the mentorship of renowned chef Wolfgang Puck.
