Iron Chef America is an American cooking competition television series based on the Japanese show "Iron Chef". Format

Each episode of Iron Chef America follows a similar format. The show begins with the Chairman, played by actor Mark Dacascos, introducing the secret ingredient for the battle. The competing chef, known as the challenger, then chooses one of the resident Iron Chefs to compete against.
