Gpr - these genes encodes g protein-coupled receptors (gprs or gpcrs). Gprs contain 7 hydrophobic transmembrane domains embedded in hydrophilic intra- and extracellular loops and transduce a variety of hormone, endogenous peptide, and neurotransmitter signals into intracellular effects via g proteins.
