- Hanover is a town located in Jefferson County, Indiana, United States. It is home to Hanover College, a private liberal arts college. The town is situated along the Ohio River and is part of the Madison, Indiana Metropolitan Statistical Area.

- Hanover is located at 38°42′50″N 85°28′8″W. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 3.93 square miles, of which 3.92 square miles is land and 0.01 square miles is water.

- As of the 2010 census, there were 3,546 people, 1,554 households, and 1,013 families residing in the town. The population density was 903.6 inhabitants per square mile.
