Harbour Centre
Harbour Centre is a notable skyscraper located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It is one of the city's most recognizable landmarks and a significant part of the Vancouver skyline. The building is primarily used for office space, but it also features a popular observation deck known as the Vancouver Lookout.
History[edit | edit source]
Harbour Centre was completed in 1977 and was designed by the architectural firm WZMH Architects. The building was developed by Marathon Realty and Toronto-Dominion Bank. Upon its completion, it became the tallest building in Vancouver, a title it held until the completion of One Wall Centre in 2001.
Architecture[edit | edit source]
The building stands at a height of 146 meters (479 feet) and has 28 floors. Its design is characterized by a cylindrical shape with a distinctive flying saucer-like structure at the top, which houses the observation deck. The observation deck offers panoramic views of the city, the North Shore Mountains, and the Pacific Ocean.
Vancouver Lookout[edit | edit source]
The Vancouver Lookout is a major tourist attraction located at the top of Harbour Centre. Visitors can reach the observation deck via a glass elevator that travels along the exterior of the building. The Lookout provides 360-degree views and is a popular spot for both tourists and locals.

Harbour Centre is home to a variety of tenants, including businesses, educational institutions, and retail outlets. One of the prominent tenants is Simon Fraser University, which operates its downtown campus within the building. The campus offers a range of programs and courses, contributing to the building's vibrant atmosphere.
