Head restraint is a safety feature integrated into the seating of vehicles, designed to limit the rearward movement of the adult occupant's head in relation to the torso during a collision, thereby reducing the risk of neck injuries, such as whiplash. Head restraints are a critical component of a vehicle's passive safety systems and are mandated by safety regulations in many jurisdictions.
