Health Alliance International

Health Alliance International (HAI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving public health systems in low-income countries. Founded in 1987, HAI works in partnership with ministries of health to strengthen health systems and improve health outcomes for vulnerable populations.

Health Alliance International was established in 1987 by Dr. Steve Gloyd, a public health physician and professor at the University of Washington. The organization initially focused on supporting health initiatives in Mozambique, a country recovering from a prolonged civil war. Over the years, HAI expanded its operations to other countries, including Timor-Leste and C te d'Ivoire.
