Hedvig Lindahl
Hedvig Lindahl (born 29 April 1983) is a Swedish professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper. She is widely regarded as one of the top goalkeepers in women's football and has had a distinguished career both at the club and international levels.
Early Life[edit | edit source]
Lindahl was born in Katrineholm, Sweden. She began playing football at a young age and quickly showed promise as a talented goalkeeper.
Club Career[edit | edit source]
Lindahl's professional career began with Malmö FF Dam, where she played from 2001 to 2003. She then moved to Linköpings FC, where she played from 2004 to 2008. During her time at Linköpings, she helped the team win the Svenska Cupen in 2006 and 2008.
In 2009, Lindahl joined Kristianstads DFF, where she played until 2014. She then moved to Chelsea F.C. Women, where she played from 2015 to 2019. At Chelsea, Lindahl won multiple titles, including the FA Women's Super League in 2015 and 2018, and the FA Women's Cup in 2015 and 2018.
After leaving Chelsea, Lindahl signed with VfL Wolfsburg in 2019, where she continued to add to her list of accolades, including winning the Frauen-Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal Frauen.
International Career[edit | edit source]
Lindahl made her debut for the Sweden women's national football team in 2002. She has since earned over 170 caps for her country and has represented Sweden in multiple FIFA Women's World Cup tournaments and UEFA Women's Championships. Lindahl was part of the Swedish squad that won the silver medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Lindahl is married and has two children. She is an advocate for LGBT rights and has been open about her own experiences as a lesbian in professional sports.
