Iberian Peninsula is a geographical region located in the southwestern corner of Europe. The peninsula is principally divided between Spain and Portugal, comprising most of their territory, as well as a small area of Southern France, Andorra and the British overseas territory of Gibraltar.

The Iberian Peninsula is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean on the west and north and the Mediterranean Sea on the east and south. The peninsula's extreme points are Cape da Roca to the west and Cape de Creus to the east.

Climate[edit | edit source]

The climate of the Iberian Peninsula is diverse. It ranges from temperate and oceanic in the north and west, to a Mediterranean climate in the south and east. The interior of the peninsula has a hot-summer continental climate.

The history of the Iberian Peninsula is one of the most complex in Europe due to its size and geographical position. The peninsula has been the site of numerous invasions and migrations from Africa and Europe.

The Iberian Peninsula is home to a rich cultural and linguistic diversity. This is reflected in the existence of several languages, including Spanish, Portuguese, Catalan, Galician, and Basque.

Economy[edit | edit source]

The economy of the Iberian Peninsula is diverse and includes a large service sector. The peninsula also has a strong industrial sector and is a major producer of olive oil, wine, and cork.
