Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd. (Japanese: 出光興産株式会社, Hepburn: Idemitsu Kōsan Kabushiki-gaisha) is a Japanese multinational energy company that operates in the business sectors of petroleum, oils, and energy-related products. Founded in 1911 by Sazo Idemitsu in Moji, Kitakyushu, it has grown to become one of the leading petroleum companies in Japan, alongside its domestic competitors such as JXTG Nippon Oil & Energy Corporation and Cosmo Oil Company.
