J.P. Wiser's Whisky
J.P. Wiser's Whisky is a brand of Canadian whisky that has been produced since 1857. It is one of the oldest continuously produced whiskies in North America. The brand is named after its founder, John Philip Wiser, who was a prominent figure in the Canadian whisky industry.
History[edit | edit source]
J.P. Wiser's Whisky was first distilled in Prescott, Ontario, by John Philip Wiser. Wiser was originally a cattle farmer who began distilling whisky as a way to use surplus grain. The quality of his whisky quickly gained a reputation, and the business grew. In 1935, the distillery was moved to Windsor, Ontario, where it remains today.
Production[edit | edit source]
J.P. Wiser's Whisky is made using a blend of corn, rye, barley, and wheat. The whisky is aged in oak barrels for a minimum of three years, although some expressions are aged much longer. The aging process takes place in the brand's warehouses in Windsor, where the climate contributes to the whisky's unique flavor profile.
Varieties[edit | edit source]
J.P. Wiser's offers a range of whiskies, including:
- J.P. Wiser's Deluxe - A blend of corn and rye whiskies aged for a minimum of three years.
