Jackson County is a county located in the U.S. state of South Dakota. As of the 2020 census, the population was 2,775. Its county seat is Kadoka.

Jackson County was created in 1915. It was named for Andrew Jackson, the seventh President of the United States.
Geography[edit | edit source]
According to the United States Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,871 square miles (4,847 km²), of which 1,864 square miles (4,828 km²) is land and 7.0 square miles (18 km²) (0.4%) is water.

Jackson County is a predominantly Republican county in presidential elections. The last Democrat to carry the county was Lyndon B. Johnson in 1964.
