Jagannatha Dasa (Odia poet)
Jagannatha Dasa (circa 1490 – 1550) was a prominent Odia poet, saint, and devotee of Lord Jagannath. He is most renowned for his composition of the Bhagabata, an Odia adaptation of the Bhagavata Purana, which has had a profound influence on the Odia culture, language, and spirituality. Jagannatha Dasa was born in the village of Kapileswarpur, near Puri, Odisha. Despite facing severe health issues in his early life, his devotion to Lord Jagannath was unwavering.
