Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]

Jean-Christophe Leroux was born in France. He completed his PharmD from the University of Angers in 1989. He then pursued his PhD in Pharmaceutical Technology from the University of Geneva and University of Lausanne, which he completed in 1995.

Career[edit | edit source]

After completing his PhD, Leroux joined the University of Montreal as an assistant professor in the Faculty of Pharmacy. In 2002, he was promoted to the position of associate professor. During his tenure at the University of Montreal, he made significant contributions to the field of liposome research.

In 2006, Leroux moved to the ETH Zurich as a full professor. At ETH Zurich, he heads the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences. His research focuses on the development of novel drug delivery systems, with a particular emphasis on nanomedicine and nanotechnology.

Research and Contributions[edit | edit source]

Jean-Christophe Leroux's research has significantly advanced the field of pharmacology. His work on liposomes has led to the development of new drug delivery systems that can target specific cells or tissues in the body. This has potential applications in the treatment of various diseases, including cancer and inflammatory diseases.

Leroux's research also extends to the field of nanomedicine, where he has developed novel nanoparticles for drug delivery. These nanoparticles can be engineered to deliver drugs to specific parts of the body, improving the efficacy of treatment and reducing side effects.

Awards and Recognition[edit | edit source]
