Jean-François Mattei (born 14 January 1943) is a French physician and politician. He served as the Minister of Health, Family and Disabled People from 2002 to 2004 under President Jacques Chirac and Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin.

Jean-François Mattei was born in Lyon, France. He pursued his medical studies and became a pediatrician, specializing in genetics and bioethics. Mattei has held various academic positions and has been involved in numerous medical research projects.

Mattei entered politics as a member of the Union for a Popular Movement (UMP). He was elected as a Member of Parliament for the Bouches-du-Rhône department. During his tenure as the Minister of Health, Family and Disabled People, he was involved in several key health reforms and policies.
