Jekyll & Hyde Club
Jekyll & Hyde Club
The Jekyll & Hyde Club is a theme restaurant in New York City, inspired by the characters and story of Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, a novel written by Robert Louis Stevenson. The restaurant is known for its elaborate Gothic decor, live entertainment, and interactive dining experience.
History[edit | edit source]
The Jekyll & Hyde Club was established in the early 1990s. It was designed to provide a unique dining experience that combines elements of a haunted house, theater, and restaurant. The concept was developed by Eerie World Entertainment, a company specializing in themed entertainment venues.
Concept and Design[edit | edit source]
The restaurant's design is heavily influenced by Victorian architecture and Gothic fiction. The interior features dark wood paneling, antique furnishings, and a variety of animatronics and special effects. The walls are adorned with portraits, artifacts, and other curiosities that contribute to the eerie atmosphere.
Dining Experience[edit | edit source]
Guests at the Jekyll & Hyde Club are treated to a theatrical dining experience. The staff, dressed in period costumes, perform skits and interact with diners throughout their meal. The menu offers a variety of American cuisine, including burgers, steaks, and seafood, with creatively themed names.
Entertainment[edit | edit source]
The Jekyll & Hyde Club offers live entertainment, including performances by actors portraying characters from the novel, such as Dr. Henry Jekyll and Mr. Edward Hyde. The restaurant also features a variety of special effects, including hidden doors, moving walls, and animatronic creatures that come to life during the dining experience.
Locations[edit | edit source]
The original Jekyll & Hyde Club was located in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan. Due to its popularity, additional locations were opened, including a larger venue in Times Square. However, as of the latest update, only the Times Square location remains operational.
