Jichi Medical University

Jichi Medical University (JMU) is a medical school located in Shimotsuke, Tochigi, Japan. It was established in March 1972 with the aim of producing medical doctors who are willing to practice in rural areas of Japan.

Jichi Medical University was founded in 1972 with the goal of training doctors to serve in rural areas of Japan. The university was established by the Japanese government and is funded by all 47 prefectures of Japan.

Education[edit | edit source]

Jichi Medical University offers a six-year program leading to a Doctor of Medicine degree. The curriculum includes two years of preclinical study, two years of clinical study, and two years of practical training in a rural setting.

Jichi Medical University is known for its research in the field of medicine. The university has a number of research centers, including the Center for Molecular Medicine, the Center for Community Medicine, and the Center for Clinical Infectious Diseases.

Several notable individuals have graduated from Jichi Medical University, including Nobuyoshi Ishii, a renowned cardiologist, and Yoshitaka Hara, a prominent neurologist.
