Jingui Yaolüe

Jingui Yaolüe (The Essential Prescriptions from the Golden Cabinet) is a classic Chinese medical text written by Zhang Zhongjing, a famous physician from the Han Dynasty. The text is considered one of the most important in the history of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and it is still widely used as a reference in TCM today.

The Jingui Yaolüe is a part of the larger work, the Shanghan Zabing Lun, which also includes the Treatise on Cold Damage Disorders. The text is divided into 25 volumes and contains 260 medical prescriptions. It focuses on the treatment of various diseases, including febrile diseases, gynecological diseases, and pediatric diseases.

The Jingui Yaolüe is known for its detailed descriptions of the symptoms, causes, and treatments of various diseases. It emphasizes the importance of diagnosis and prescription based on the differentiation of syndromes. The text also introduces many famous prescriptions, such as Gui Zhi Tang (Cinnamon Twig Decoction) and Bai Hu Tang (White Tiger Decoction).
