John Joyce (American politician)
John Joyce is an American politician and physician serving as the U.S. Representative for Pennsylvania's 13th congressional district. He is a member of the Republican Party.
Early life and education[edit | edit source]
Joyce was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania. He attended Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School in Altoona. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State University and his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from the Temple University School of Medicine.
Medical career[edit | edit source]
Before entering politics, Joyce had a long career in medicine. He completed his residency in dermatology at Johns Hopkins Hospital and subsequently worked as a dermatologist in Altoona for over 25 years. He was also involved in various medical organizations and community health initiatives.
Political career[edit | edit source]
Joyce announced his candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2018. He ran for the seat in Pennsylvania's 13th congressional district, which was open due to the retirement of Bill Shuster. Joyce won the Republican primary and subsequently the general election.
In Congress, Joyce serves on several committees, including the House Committee on Homeland Security and the House Committee on Small Business. He is known for his work on healthcare policy, veterans' issues, and economic development.

Joyce is married to his wife, Alice, and they have three children. The family resides in Blair County, Pennsylvania.
