John Michael Uhrich
John Michael Uhrich (June 7, 1877 – June 15, 1951) was a Canadian physician and politician who served as the fifth Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan from 1948 to 1951.

John Michael Uhrich was born on June 7, 1877, in Formosa, Ontario, Canada. He pursued his early education in Ontario before attending the University of Toronto, where he earned his medical degree.
Medical Career[edit | edit source]
After completing his education, Uhrich moved to Saskatchewan and established a medical practice. He became a well-respected physician in the community, known for his dedication to patient care and his contributions to public health.
Political Career[edit | edit source]
Uhrich's involvement in politics began with his election to the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan as a member of the Liberal Party of Saskatchewan. He served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the constituency of Rosthern from 1921 to 1934. During his tenure, he held various cabinet positions, including Minister of Public Health and Minister of Education.
In 1948, Uhrich was appointed as the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, a position he held until his death in 1951. As Lieutenant Governor, he represented the Monarch of Canada in Saskatchewan and performed various ceremonial duties.
