Johnny Rockets
Johnny Rockets is an international restaurant chain that offers the food, fun, and friendliness reminiscent of feel-good Americana. Established in 1986, the brand provides a unique dining experience where guests can enjoy delicious hamburgers, crispy American Fries, and rich, creamy milkshakes in a friendly and fun atmosphere.
History[edit | edit source]
Johnny Rockets was founded on June 6, 1986, by Ronn Teitelbaum in Los Angeles, California. Teitelbaum started the concept with the goal of serving classic American food in a fun, nostalgic atmosphere. The name "Johnny Rockets" was inspired by the combination of the timeless Johnny Appleseed story and the classic Oldsmobile Rocket 88 car.
Menu[edit | edit source]
The menu at Johnny Rockets includes a variety of items, including hamburgers, sandwiches, salads, and desserts. The brand is particularly known for its original hamburger, the Streamliner, which is a 100% soy, non-GMO, plant-based burger. In addition to food, Johnny Rockets also offers a variety of beverages, including milkshakes, floats, and sodas.
Locations[edit | edit source]
As of 2021, Johnny Rockets operates more than 350 franchise and corporate locations in over 30 countries around the world. The brand's locations can be found in malls, airports, amusement parks, and along city streets.
Ownership[edit | edit source]
Johnny Rockets has changed ownership several times since its inception. In 2007, it was acquired by RedZone Capital, a private equity firm. In 2013, the chain was sold to Sun Capital Partners, another private equity firm. In 2020, Johnny Rockets was acquired by FAT Brands, a global franchising company.
