Jordan Hicks (baseball)
Jordan Hicks (born September 6, 1996) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2018 and is known for his exceptional fastball velocity.
Early Life and Amateur Career[edit | edit source]
Hicks was born in Houston, Texas. He attended Cypress Creek High School in Harris County, Texas. During his high school career, Hicks showcased his talent as a pitcher, drawing attention from various MLB scouts.

Minor Leagues[edit | edit source]
Hicks was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the third round of the 2015 Major League Baseball draft. He began his professional career with the Gulf Coast League Cardinals and later played for the Johnson City Cardinals and the Peoria Chiefs.

Hicks made his MLB debut on March 29, 2018, against the New York Mets. He quickly gained attention for his fastball, which regularly exceeded 100 miles per hour. On May 20, 2018, Hicks threw two pitches that were clocked at 105 mph, making them some of the fastest pitches ever recorded in MLB history.
