José Goldemberg
José Goldemberg (born May 27, 1928) is a Brazilian physicist, university professor, scientific leader, and prominent advocate for sustainable development. He has made significant contributions to the fields of energy policy, environmental science, and sustainable development.

Goldemberg was born in Santo Ângelo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. He earned his undergraduate degree in Physics from the University of São Paulo (USP) in 1950 and later completed his Ph.D. in Physical Sciences at the same institution.
