Journal of Clinical Microbiology
Journal of Clinical Microbiology is a monthly, peer-reviewed, medical journal, published by the American Society for Microbiology. The journal covers all aspects of clinical microbiology, including bacteriology, virology, parasitology, mycology, and immunology, as applied to human disease.

The Journal of Clinical Microbiology was established in 1975. The founding editor was Edwin H. Lennette (1906–1992), a pioneer in diagnostic virology. The journal is currently edited by Alexander J. McAdam (Boston Children's Hospital).
Scope[edit | edit source]
The journal publishes original research, review articles, and clinical case studies. Topics covered include the pathogenesis, diagnosis, epidemiology, therapy, and prevention of infectious diseases; the organisms that cause and spread infections; and the host response to infections.
Abstracting and indexing[edit | edit source]
The journal is abstracted and indexed in PubMed, MEDLINE, Scopus, Science Citation Index, and Current Contents/Clinical Medicine. According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal has a 2019 impact factor of 5.897.
