KPIX-TV is a television station licensed to San Francisco, California, United States. It serves as the CBS owned-and-operated station for the San Francisco Bay Area. KPIX-TV is owned by CBS News and Stations, a division of Paramount Global.

KPIX-TV was the first television station in Northern California, signing on the air on December 22, 1948. It was originally owned by Associated Broadcasters, owners of KSFO radio (560 AM). The station's first broadcast was a news program, and it has maintained a strong news presence in the Bay Area ever since.

In 1954, KPIX was purchased by Westinghouse Electric Corporation, which later became CBS Corporation. This acquisition made KPIX a part of the CBS network, and it has remained a CBS affiliate ever since.

KPIX-TV broadcasts a variety of programming, including local news, weather, and sports. It also airs CBS network programming, syndicated shows, and local productions. The station is known for its award-winning news coverage and has received numerous Emmy Awards for its journalism.
