San Francisco

San Francisco is a city located in the U.S. state of California. It is the fourth most populous city in the state and the 16th most populous in the United States. History

San Francisco was founded on June 29, 1776, when colonists from Spain established Mission San Francisco de Asís, the oldest surviving structure in San Francisco. The California Gold Rush of 1849 brought rapid growth, making it the largest city on the West Coast at the time.
