Katie Leclerc is an American actress best known for her role as Daphne Vasquez in the television series Switched at Birth. She was born on November 6, 1986, in San Antonio, Texas, United States.

Leclerc was diagnosed with Meniere's disease at a young age, which has caused her to experience hearing loss. Despite this challenge, she pursued her passion for acting and attended Valencia High School in Santa Clarita, California.

Career[edit | edit source]

Leclerc's breakthrough role came in 2011 when she was cast as Daphne Vasquez in Switched at Birth. The show, which revolves around two teenage girls who discover they were switched at birth, garnered critical acclaim and a loyal fan base. Leclerc's portrayal of a deaf character earned her praise for bringing awareness to the deaf community.

In addition to her work on television, Leclerc has also appeared in films such as The Reckoning and The Reckoning.
