Khyber

Khyber is a region located in the northwestern part of Pakistan. It is one of the eight districts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and is known for its strategic importance due to its location near the Afghanistan border. The region is named after the famous Khyber Pass, a mountain pass that has been a significant trade route between Central Asia and South Asia.

The history of Khyber region dates back to ancient times. It has been a part of various empires including the Achaemenid Empire, Maurya Empire, Kushan Empire, Sassanian Empire, White Huns, Kabul Shahi, Ghaznavids, and Mughal Empire. The region has also been a battleground for many wars due to its strategic location.

Khyber is located in the northwestern part of Pakistan, bordering Afghanistan. The region is mostly mountainous, with the Khyber Pass being the most notable geographical feature. The pass has been a significant trade route between Central Asia and South Asia.

The majority of the population in Khyber are Pashtuns, who are known for their unique culture and traditions. The region is also home to various other ethnic groups including the Afridi, Shinwari, and Mullagori.

The economy of Khyber is primarily based on agriculture, with a significant portion of the population engaged in farming. The region is also known for its mineral resources, including coal, marble, and limestone.
