Kiryandongo General Hospital

Kiryandongo General Hospital is a government-owned hospital located in Kiryandongo District, in the Northern Region of Uganda. It is the district hospital for Kiryandongo District and serves as a referral hospital for the health centers in the district.

The hospital is located in the town of Kiryandongo, approximately 225 kilometers, by road, north-west of Kampala, the capital and largest city of Uganda. The geographical coordinates of Kiryandongo General Hospital are: 2°11'24.0"N, 32°53'42.0"E.

Overview[edit | edit source]

Kiryandongo General Hospital is a public hospital, funded by the Uganda Ministry of Health and general care in the hospital is free. It is one of the 13 "General Hospitals" in Uganda, which form the backbone of the medical service delivery system in the country. The hospital has a bed capacity of 100, serving a population of over 266,197 people in Kiryandongo District and neighboring communities.

The hospital provides the following services: General surgery, Internal medicine, Obstetrics and gynecology, Pediatrics, Outpatient services, HIV/AIDS treatment, Tuberculosis treatment, and Malaria treatment.
